BELOW are step by step instructions, in full detail, on how to use the Coren earpiercer. The entire ear piercing process is covered. Please read entire instructions before you begin.
For accurate and comfortable ear piercing, some helpful accessories are available. These items appear below as blue-highlighted links. They may be purchased individually or together in the Accessory Kit.
Earpiercers are suitable for ear lobes, and they can be used for cartilage areas too (allow for extra sensitivity and a longer healing time).
We include a complete set of these instructions, and free alcohol pad(s), with every order we ship.
-
Step 1
-
Before you begin: Check your ears for signs of any unhealthy conditions. Do not proceed if skin of the ear is inflamed, sore, or shows symptoms of acne, eczema, or similar condition. IF you feel the presence of keloids (interior scar tissue) or cysts within the earlobe, consult a doctor before ear piercing. Obtain the approval of your doctor for ear piercing if you suffer from diabetes, epilepsy, hypertension, heart disease, or hemophilia.
-
Step 2
-
Move hair away from both ears. Remove existing jewelry, if it is in the way.
-
Step 3
Wash hands.
-
Step 4
Place your supplies on a clean surface. Open packages.
-
Step 5
Clean earlobes, front and back, with alcohol swabs (provided). Apply Sting-Ease Pad at this time. Allow to dry.
-
Step 6
Use the Surgical Marking Pen to put a small dot on each earlobe where you would like to pierce.. (An assistant might be helpful.) Special ink may be wiped right off with alcohol and re-done. DO NOT use any marking device other than an approved surgical pen. Our pen WILL NOT leave a permanent mark.
-
Step 7
Check marks in the mirror. Be sure they appear even, and not too close to the lower edge of the earlobe.
-
Step 8
Here’s how it works:
1. The earpiercer is held with thumb on the white stem. Little round “button” rests on index finger.
2. The earpiercer is closed gently, to hold the earlobe.
3. Firm squeeze snaps the piercing mechanism and pierces the ear instantly. Clasp is automatically attached behind the ear. That’s it!
4. Earpiercer is pulled down and away from the ear, and discarded.
-
Step 8a
If you are using the white Handle, place the blue Coren earpiercer into it as shown. (You can pierce ears without the optional Handle, but it is recommended for self-piercers and first-time users.) With your thumb behind the round white stem, gently close the earpiercer to see how it holds your ear before piercing.
-
Step 9
Position Coren Earpiercer on your earlobe. Tip: When using the earpiercer on yourself; use the left hand for the right ear, and the right hand for the left ear. With your thumb behind the white stem, gently close the earpiercer so it grips your ear where you want your new piercing to be.
-
Step 9a
Optional Handle is shown here as it holds the earpiercer in position before piercing.
-
Step 10
When ready, squeeze earpiercer evenly and firmly until “click” sound is heard. Congratulations, you now have a pierced ear!
Note: It is normal to experience a tingling feeling in your earlobe , and the area may “blush” for a few minutes.
-
Step 11
Release squeezing pressure on the earpiercer to allow it to open. Gently pull the earpiercer down toward the shoulder. The clasp, which has been automatically attached to the stud, will slip out of the earpiercer and stay attached to the stud. Discard the empty earpiercer, but keep the white Handle for your next ear. If your studs are the pediatric style, gently remove the dull plastic “guide”.
-
Step 12
-
Repeat Steps 8,9,10, and 11 for your other ear.
-
Step 13
Carefully follow Aftercare Rules, shipped with every order. We recommend that Ear Care Gel be used, beginning the next day.
