Here are the simple steps for safe and painless ear piercing. You can pierce your own ears, or your friend's ears, or your child's ears! For your protection, every ear stud comes in its own sterile, disposable instrument. You open a new sterile package for every ear.
Today's earpiercer is a personal-size version of yesterday's multiple-use "ear piercing gun." Every earpiercer comes ready-to-use, with a single "healing stud." There are 16 different stud options to choose from.
For accurate and comfortable ear piercing, some helpful accessories are available. Below, green highlighted instructions refer to items in the optional Accessory Kit.
EarpiercersTM are suitable for ear lobes, and they can be used for cartilage areas too (allow for extra sensitivity and a longer healing time).
We include a complete set of these instructions, and free alcohol pad(s), with every order we ship.

Precautions: Check your ears for signs of any unhealthy conditions. Do not proceed if skin of the ear is inflamed, sore, or shows symptoms of acne, eczema, or similar condition. If you feel the presence of keloids (interior scar tissue) or cysts within the earlobe, consult a doctor before ear piercing. Obtain the approval of your doctor for ear piercing if you suffer from diabetes, epilepsy, hypertension, heart disease, or hemophilia |

| 2. |
Move long hair away from both ears. Remove existing jewelry, if it is in the way |

| 3. |
Wash hands. |

| 4. |
Place your supplies on a clean surface. Open packages. |

| 5. |
Clean earlobes, front and back, with alcohol swabs (provided). You may apply optional Sting Ease Medicated Pad at this time. Allow to dry. |

| 6. |
If you are using our optional Surgical Marking Pen, put a small dot on each earlobe where you would like to pierce. (An assistant might be helpful.) Special ink may be wiped right off with alcohol and re-done. DO NOT use any marking device other than an approved surgical pen. Our pen WILL NOT leave a permanent mark |

| 7. |
Check marks in the mirror. Be sure they appear even, and not too close to the lower edge of the earlobe. |

| 8. | Here's How It Works |
The earpiercer® is held with your thumb on the white stem. Little round "button" rests on your index finger. |
The earpiercer® is closed gently, to hold the earlobe. Tiny tabs on the stem prevent piercing until you're ready. |
Firm squeeze snaps the tabs and pierces the ear instantly. Clasp is automatically attached behind the ear. That's it! |
Earpiercer® is pulled down and away from the ear, and discarded. |

If you are using the optional white Handle, place the blue Coren® earpiercerTM into it as shown. (You can pierce ears without the optional Handle, but it is recommended for self-piercers and first-time users.) With your thumb behind the round white stem, try squeezing gently, to see how the Coren® closes and holds your earlobe before piercing. Tip: when piercing your own ears; use the left hand for the right ear, and the right hand for the left ear.

| 9. |
Position Coren® earpiercerTM on your earlobe. With your thumb behind the white stem, gently close the ear piercer so it grips your ear where you want your new earstud to be. (Squeeze lightly; nothing happens until you have squeezed firmly.) Be sure the ear piercer is pointed straight in. |

| 9a. |
Optional Handle is shown here as it holds the earpiercerTM in position, before piercing. |

| 10. |
It is not possible to pierce your ear slowly The earpiercerTM requires a certain pressure, then it activates instantly.
Squeeze evenly and firmly until "click" sound is heard. Congratulations, you now have a pierced ear!
The clasp on the thin end is automatically attached. Note: It is normal to experience a tingling feeling in your earlobe, and the area may "blush" for a few minutes. |

| 11. |
Release squeezing pressure on the earpiercerTM, (or Handle, if you are using one), so it can open up again. Gently pull the earpiercerTM down toward the shoulder. The clasp will slip out of the earpiercerTM and stay attached to the stud. Throw away the empty ear piercer, but keep the optional white Handle for your next ear. If your studs are the 3mm-ball style, gently remove the dull plastic "guide", if it does not fall away. |

| 12. |
Repeat Steps 8, 9, 10, and 11 for your other ear. |

| 13. |
Carefully follow Aftercare Rules, shipped with every order. We recommend that Ear Care Gel be used, beginning the next day. |
